PKR review
PKR Poker kicked of its full 3D initiative a couple of years ago, through a large scale advertising campaign which drew thousands upon thousands of players to its tables with promises of a realistic 3D interface which was supposed to bring online play a little closer to live action, through the player gestures and various other perks it featured. PKR never disappointed. Since then, other online poker rooms tried the same approach and failed, but PKR is still going strong to this day.
Having secured its critical player liquidity, PKR cut back on the advertising, but it continues to draw in new players all the time through the rakeback deal it offers.
Built around the cutting-edge, next generation 3D interface, PKR is not a member of a poker network. There’s no room for big brother policies there. It hasn’t started its own network either yet.
As far as the software goes, PKR is quite unbeatable. You know how reviewers say of various online poker rooms that they feature 3D-like graphics…Well PKR does not have 3D-like graphics: it’s the real McCoy. The avatars act out various gestures at the tables and you actually need to take a second peek at your hole cards if you forget what you have. This move is of course visible to your opponents too.
PKR’s software is stable and fast, although because of the fact that you have to constantly look at your hole cards, multi-tabling is somewhat difficult.
